Born on September 4, 1979, in Augusta, Maine, John was a beloved son, brother, father, partner, and friend who touched the lives of many with his kindness and humility. John was the cherished son of Linda Roinestad, and he carried forth the love and warmth passed down by his late grandparents, Patricia and Norman Roinestad. John shared a special bond with his brother, the late Chad Healey, and his sister, Tricia Healey, who survives him. A devoted father, John leaves behind his son, Dakoda Roinestad, and daughters, Lindsey, Lauren, and Gracelyn Roinestad, who will forever hold him in their hearts. His life partner of 28 years, Tracy Terrell, was his steadfast companion and source of joy. John's presence will be missed by his extended family and many cherished friends who considered themselves fortunate to have known him. John's journey began at Gardiner High School, where he laid the foundation for a life marked by hard work and dedication. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Maine Roofing and Siding in Richmond, Maine, a business he proudly ran alongside his son, Dakoda. As a self-employed contractor, John was known for his reliability and commitment to his craft, earning the trust and respect of his community. Beyond his professional achievements, John found solace and joy in the great outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, finding peace in the natural beauty that surrounded him. John's passion for collecting vintage treasures was a testament to his appreciation for history and the stories each item held. He also enjoyed lively card tournaments, where his quick wit and sharp mind shone brightly. John's most remarkable qualities were his kindness and humility. Always willing to lend a helping hand, he was a beacon of light for those in need. His generosity of spirit and unwavering integrity left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path. As we remember John, his family wishes to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, where those who loved him can come together to honor and cherish his memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in John's name to a charity of one's choice. John Michael Roinestad's legacy will live on in the hearts of those he loved so dearly. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love he so freely gave.
