John Matthew Talent Jr

In loving memory of John Matthew Talent Jr, who departed this world on August 16, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on October 12, 1941, in Lamesa, Texas, John was the son of the late John Mathew Talent and Ollie V Talent. John pursued his education with great dedication, graduating from Rice University, an accomplishment that set the stage for a fulfilling career. He applied his passion for science and learning at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, where he worked diligently in the Department of Molecular Biology and Immunology. His contributions to the field were characterized by a commitment to excellence and a genuine desire to make a difference. Outside of his professional life, John found joy in the warmth of family gatherings and the vibrant atmosphere of Renaissance Fairs. His love for family was evident in the way he cherished time spent with his nephew, Thomas M Thompson, and nieces, Mary L Thompson and Cathy Webb. He was a beloved uncle who greatly valued these relationships, finding happiness and laughter in their company. Preceded in death by his parents and his dear sister, Doris O Thompson, Aunt, Irene Hoge, John leaves behind a legacy of kindness, intelligence, and a life well-lived. His presence will be dearly missed by his surviving family members and all who had the privilege of knowing him. A service celebrating John's life will be held on September 14, 2026, at 9:00 AM at Andrews West Cemetery. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by John are invited to gather and honor his memory.
