With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of John Mark Gullett, known to many as Mark, who departed this world on April 15, 2026. Born on December 18, 1962, in Bradenton, Florida, Mark was the beloved son of Benjamin Gullett and Alice Gullett (née McGowin). He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience that will echo in the hearts of his family and friends forever. A proud graduate of Bayshore High School, Class of 1980, Mark was a beacon of humor and wit, qualities that endeared him to all who were fortunate to know him. His life was a testament to strength and tenacity, as he faced life's challenges with a smile and a determination that inspired those around him. Mark was a retired business owner of Gulley’s in Parrish, Florida, where he was renowned for his signature smoked mullet. Beyond the delicious food, it was the connections and camaraderie he built within his community that truly defined his career. Mark had a unique ability to bring people together, and his presence at Gulley’s was a testament to the power of community and friendship. Mark's greatest joy came from the simple yet profound pleasures of life. He delighted in spending time with his family and friends, creating memories through music, fishing, camping, playing pool, and drag racing. These passions were not just hobbies; they were the threads that wove the fabric of his life, binding him to those he loved in a tapestry rich with shared experiences and laughter. He is survived by his devoted siblings, Benjamin Gullett Jr. (Milagros Gullett), Elizabeth Gullett, and Richard Gullett (Deanna Gullett); his loving children, Casey Gullett (Twane Dobard) and Joseph Gullett, who carry forward his legacy with pride; and his cherished grandchildren, Mason Gullett, John Moore III (Trey), Ariah Dobard, and Twane Dobard Jr. (TJ), who were a source of immense joy and pride for their grandfather. Mark also leaves behind his beloved nieces and nephews, who held a special place in his heart, and the family pet Rosco, who was always close by his side. A memorial service to celebrate Mark's life will be held on May 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Brown & Sons Funeral Home, located at 604 43rd St W, Bradenton, Florida, 34309. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the memory of a remarkable man who touched the lives of many with his laughter, strength, and love. Mark’s spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. As we bid farewell to him, we hold on to the warmth of his smile, the sound of his laughter, and the strength of his character, knowing that he is now at peace, fishing in tranquil waters and watching over us with the same love and care he showed during his time with us.
