In Loving Memory

John M Coursen
August 1, 2006 — April 24, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved John M Coursen, who left this world far too soon at the tender age of 19. John was born on August 1, 2006, in Newton, New Jersey, and he departed this life on April 24, 2026, after a tragic crash, succumbing to his injuries at the memorial hospital.
John was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew him. His vibrant spirit and infectious laughter brightened the lives of his family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. While academics were not where his heart lay, John found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, most notably spending cherished moments with his friends and engaging in activities that ignited his passion.
John was the treasured son of Shanna Coursen and Kyle Talmadge, who lovingly nurtured his adventurous spirit and encouraged his zest for life. He leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth, survived by his devoted mother, Shanna, and his five siblings, who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. John is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom adored him deeply.
John's departure is mourned by many, yet we find solace in knowing he is reunited with those who predeceased him: his beloved grandmother, Alice M. Coursen; his cherished aunt, Tresea Coursen; and his precious baby cousin, known tenderly as C. Their spirits now embrace each other once more in eternal peace.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate John's life and honor his memory on April 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM. The service will be held at St. Jones Church, located in Sussex, NJ. It will be a time to share stories, shed tears, and find comfort in one another as we remember a young man whose life, though brief, touched so many.
John's legacy is one of love, laughter, and friendship. His memory will continue to inspire all who knew him to live fully and cherish each moment. As we gather to commemorate his life, let us hold his spirit close and carry forward the joy he brought into our world.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in John's memory to a charity of your choice, spreading kindness and support in the way John always did.
Rest in peace, dear John. Your smile will forever shine in our hearts.
