John Lindsay lamb
December 21, 1961 — May 6, 2026
It is with profound sorrow and deep respect that we announce the passing of John Lindsay Lamb, a beloved husband, friend, and mentor to many, who departed this world on May 6, 2026, at the age of 64. John passed away at St. Joseph Main Hospital following open heart aorta valve replacement surgery. He was surrounded by the love and prayers of those who cherished him.
Born on December 21, 1961, in Stockton-On-Tees, England, John was the cherished son of Charles Eddie and Shirley (Pinches) Lamb. He was predeceased by his devoted parents and his grandparents, Leslie and Irene Lamb, whose values and love he carried throughout his life. In his passing, he leaves behind his devoted wife, Donna Jane Lamb, with whom he shared more than 40 years of a joyous and fulfilling marriage, sealed on June 8, 1985, in Cottage Grove, Oregon.
John's career was as diverse as it was rich. In England, he served diligently as a County Hall Government worker. After moving to America, his professional journey took him through various roles, including a Hotel Room Service Manager, Real Estate Agent, Life Insurance Worker, Hotel Night Auditor, and Master Control Room Engineer for a TV Station. Perhaps most impactful was his role as a House Parent at the Florida United Methodist Children's Home, where he lovingly nurtured over 200 children.
His faith was a cornerstone of his life. A dedicated member of the Goldstreet Garden Church in Dunedin, John served on the Worship Team, operated the Sound System, and guided the youth group. From age six, his love for Jesus was unwavering, and he expressed it through music, playing the bass, box guitar, and piano. His taste in music was as eclectic as he was, enjoying everything from Christian melodies to classical and jazz.
John's passions extended beyond his faith and career. He was an avid car enthusiast, particularly fond of classic cars, and he amassed an impressive collection of model cars, stamps, and coins. His life was a testament to the joy of simple pleasures and the strength found in quiet humility.
A man of remarkable humor and warmth, John's laughter was infectious, and his compassion boundless. He was a laid-back soul with an exceptional ability to comfort and bring clarity in moments of need. His presence was a beacon of love and support, and his legacy is forever etched in the hearts of the many children he fostered and the countless lives he touched.
Among his proudest achievements were his water baptism alongside his father and grandfather, successfully becoming a Real Estate Agent, serving as a foster parent for six and a half years, and fulfilling his dream of becoming an American citizen.
A service to celebrate John's life will be held on May 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Dunedin Assembly of God Church, located at 885 Lake Haven Rd, Dunedin, FL 34698. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Donn Lamb at P.O. Box 1411, Dunedin, FL 34697.
John leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and humor. As his family graciously shares, "John had a quiet humility with strength and love. He was a rock-solid faithful Christian man. Thank you, John, for being confident in who you were in Christ. Thank you for being a man I and others could respect and honor easily."
John Lindsay Lamb will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who were blessed to know him. May his soul rest in eternal peace, assured in the love and grace of the Lord.
