He passed away peacefully at the hospital, embraced by the love and gratitude of those who cherished him most. John was born in Rolla, Missouri, on February 27, 1970, to Harry and Rose Smith. From a young age, he was known for his kindness, generosity, and an indomitable spirit that touched all who had the privilege of knowing him. He grew up in a nurturing home, guided by the loving hands of his parents, who instilled in him values that he carried throughout his life. John was preceded in death by his loving mother, Rose Smith, and his cherished daughter, Brittany Linson. Though their absence left a profound void, John found solace and strength in the enduring love of his family, who became his greatest joy and purpose. A devoted father, John was a pillar of support and inspiration to his children, teaching them the importance of empathy, resilience, and integrity.
