John L Fowley

December 16, 1944 — May 12, 2026

John L. Fowley, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, after a brief illness, at the tender age of 81. Born on December 16, 1944, in Worcester, Massachusetts, John was a beacon of love and kindness, whose presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know him. John was the cherished son of the late John J. Fowley and Dorothy Fowley and brother to the late Patricia Jablonski, Frances "Butch" Fowley, and James Fowley. His family roots instilled in him a profound appreciation for togetherness and community. A proud graduate of Classical High School in 1964, John went on to make significant contributions in his professional life as a leader in the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS), serving as a President and past President. His colleagues remember him as a dedicated professional with a generous spirit, always ready to offer guidance and support. On July 29, 1988, John married the love of his life, Deborah Millett, and together they built a beautiful family, filled with laughter and love. John was a devoted father to his daughters, Deborah Fowley and Tricia Draleaus, and a loving father-in-law to Matthew Draleaus. He found immense joy as a grandfather to Matthew Fowley and Audrey Draleaus, whose lives he enriched with his wisdom and warmth. John's interests were as vast as the ocean he loved so much. From kayaking and fishing in the Keys with family and friends to cycling and golfing, he embraced each day with enthusiasm and gratitude. Yet, his greatest joy was found in the company of his family, where his warm heart and beautiful smile made every gathering special. Known for his calm demeanor, John rarely displayed anger, a testament to his gentle and forgiving nature. His kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on the lives of many, and his welcoming spirit was a gift that made everyone feel at home in his presence. John is survived by his devoted wife, Deborah, his cherished daughters and son-in-law, his adored grandchildren, his dear sister Dorothy Turgeon, and several nieces and nephews who fondly remember his laughter and love. In keeping with John's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor his life and legacy. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Bud and Donna Somers Hospice House in Sebring, Florida, for their compassionate care during John's final days. Though John has left this world, his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire and guide those who knew him. In the hearts of his family and friends, John L. Fowley will forever be remembered as a man who lived life with grace, generosity, and boundless love.
