It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us on September 9, 2026. Born on November 23, 1963, in Houston, Texas, John was the cherished son of Amos Talmadge Wilkinson and Wanda Frances Berg, both of whom predeceased him, along with his sister Kathy Edwards, brothers Billy Wilkinson and Michael Wilkinson, and his granddaughter Katie Wilkinson.
John's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and service. He was the proud father of six children: JC, Andrew, Steven, Daniel, Sabrina, and Kimberlyn Wilkinson, who were the lights of his life. He was also the adored grandfather of 22 grandchildren, including Jocelyn, Jordon, Amber, Jayden, Khloe, Amity, Daisy, Andrew Jr., Daniel, Oakly, Emma, Trevor, Lane, Annabelle, Francesca, Makayla, Alexis Beasly, Hayden Beasly, Kimmy McCauley, Evan McCauley, and Chase Norwood. His family was his greatest joy, and he was the cornerstone of their lives.
John's siblings, Linda Gates, Pat Ferell, Liz Brown, Debbie Robles, Frank Wilkinson, and Ricky Berg, along with his many grandchildren and extended family, carry forward his legacy of love and kindness. His close friends Ronnie Edwards, Kenny Farber, and Kristy Taylor, Lynn & Debbie Hooker who were like family to him, sharing countless adventures and cherished moments together.
Throughout his life, John wore many hats—each with dedication and pride. He served as a mechanic, builder, cop, firefighter, and big truck driver. His work was not just a job but a testament to his commitment to helping others and serving his community.
An avid hunter, John found peace and joy in the great outdoors. He loved spending time with his family and friends, whether he was hosting a cookout, sitting by a bonfire, or simply enjoying the view from his porch. His presence made any gathering special, and his humor brought smiles to those around him. Known for his little jokes and comments, he had a unique way of making everyone feel welcome and cherished.
John was the person everyone turned to for advice, a helping hand, or just a friendly chat. His kindness and generosity touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
