John Kevin Baetge, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on November 16, 1957, in the charming town of Bishop, California, Kevin was the cherished son of Howard A. Baetge Jr. and Annette Whiting Baetge.
Kevin spent his formative years in Bishop, where he cultivated lifelong friendships and developed a passion for learning. A proud graduate of Bishop Union High School, Class of 1975, he went on to earn a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing and Economics from California State University, Chico, in 1981.
Kevin's professional journey was marked by dedication and success. He served as Vice President and General Manager at Eastern Sierra Wholesalers, a position he held with distinction from 1985 until his recent retirement in July 2026. His colleagues remember him as a leader of integrity and vision, whose work contributed significantly to the growth and success of the company.
Beyond his professional life, Kevin was a passionate golfer and a member of the Bishop Country Club Golf Course. He found great joy in the company of friends at regional tournaments, where his love for the sport was evident in every swing.
Kevin's family was his greatest treasure. He is survived by his beloved sons, Eric Wagner and Alec Baetge, his devoted mother, Annette Whiting Baetge, and his loving siblings, Debbie Thomas and Jim and Marie Baetge. Though he was predeceased by his father and his Brother in law Wayne Thomas and niece, Jordan Thomas Romero, their memories remained close to his heart.
Kevin's life was a testament to kindness, generosity, and a spirit that touched everyone who knew him. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and a life well-lived. His family invites those who wish to honor his memory to consider donating to a charity of their choice.
