It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the peaceful passing of John Frank Kettell Sr. who departed this world on April 11, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on September 11, 1960, in Philadelphia, John lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends.
John was the cherished son of the late Michael and Mary Anne Kettell, who instilled in him the values of kindness, generosity, and a strong work ethic. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, his brother Michael, his brother-in-law William Lockard, his niece Tara Settimi, and brother-in-law Christopher Spizzirri leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Cynthia Kettell, with whom he built a beautiful life and family. Their love story, which began on November 6, 1987, was an enduring testament to partnership and devotion. John was the proud father of Carla and John, and a doting grandfather to Aidan, Sienna, Nora, and AJ, who were the light of his life. His gentle spirit and caring heart made him a father figure not only to his own children but to his nieces and nephews as well, and a best friend to many.
John's siblings, Michele, Mary Anne, Barbara, Thomas, and William, along with many extended family members, cherished friends, and co-workers, will forever remember his generous nature and the warmth he brought into their lives. His ability to make anyone feel like family was one of his most treasured qualities.
A dedicated worker, John spent his career as a foreman and forklift driver, where he was recognized for his skill and commitment, even earning an award for his excellence. He retired in 2025, allowing him to spend more time with the people and hobbies he loved dearly.
John found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as his passion for old Mustangs and model train sets. He was also known for his love of visiting casinos, finding thrill in the game and the camaraderie of those around him.
Above all, John Kettell will be remembered for his huge, caring heart. He was a man of immense patience and kindness, always ready to lend a hand or an ear to anyone in need. His family was his world, and he would do anything for them, a true testament to his loving and generous spirit.
As we say goodbye, the family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and co-workers during this difficult time. Your kindness is a testament to the impact John had on all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held to honor John's life and legacy at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in John's name to a cancer charity of your choice, in hopes of supporting others in their battle and honoring John's memory.
John's gentle soul touched many lives, and while he will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. Rest in peace, dear John, knowing you were truly loved.
