It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of John "Jack" Mizinski, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, who departed this world peacefully on May 17, 2026, at the age of 90. Jack was born on April 22, 1936, in Superior, Wisconsin, to the late Adam "Edge" Mizinski and Helen Waletzko Mizinski. His journey through life was marked by unwavering love, dedication, and resilience.
Jack's early years were spent in the close-knit community of Superior, where he graduated from Superior East High School. It was here that he cultivated a strong sense of community and a deep appreciation for the friendships he cherished throughout his life. After high school, Jack answered the call to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Army, a testament to his character and dedication to others.
Following his military service, Jack embarked on a fulfilling career, contributing his talents to the railroad, Superior Fiber Products, and Georgia Pacific. His work ethic was unparalleled, and his colleagues admired him for his integrity and dedication. Jack was not just a diligent worker but also a man who took immense pride in his contributions to the community and the well-being of his family.
In his personal life, Jack was a devoted family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol Erickson Mizinski, and his daughter, Susan Mizinski Gann. Despite these profound losses, Jack's spirit remained unbroken, and he continued to be a pillar of strength for his surviving family members: daughter Lori and her husband Bruce, son Jeffrey "Jeff" Mizinski, and his grandchildren Deborah Crowley Burks, John Crowley, Trenton Mizinski, Cassandra Mizinski, Kali Gan Miller, and Gracie Gan. He also leaves behind a legacy of love in his great-grandchildren, Lily, Paisley, Charlotte, Michael, and Truitt, who will carry forward his spirit of kindness and compassion.
Jack's faith was an integral part of his life. He was a devout member of St. Stanislaus and St. Francis Catholic Churches in Superior, Wisconsin, where he found solace and community. His faith guided him through life's challenges and was a source of comfort to those who knew him.
Beyond his professional and personal achievements, Jack had a zest for life that was evident in his hobbies and interests. From an early age, he enjoyed bowling, and in later years, he found joy on the golf course. These activities were not only pastimes but also opportunities for Jack to forge lasting friendships and create cherished memories.
In honor of Jack's life and his enduring spirit, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his memory to St. Francis Catholic Churches in Superior, Wisconsin. This gesture will continue Jack's legacy of generosity and support for the community he held dear.
Jack Mizinski's life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and unwavering strength. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and family values that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
