Obituary for John Kenneth "Jack" Christopher John Kenneth "Jack" Christopher, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 98. Born on March 30, 1928, in the scenic Highway Highlands of La Canada, California, Jack's life was a testament to devotion, passion, and a boundless generosity of spirit. Jack was the oldest beloved son of John Marshall and Edith Genevieve Sisney (Chris) Christopher. He was predeceased by his adored wife, Luella, his parents, and his brother, James. Together, Jack and Luella raised three lovely daughters: Vicky Evelyn Wolf, Gail Lyn Sawyer, and Ginger L. Krause, who cherish his memory along with his four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In his early years, Jack honorably served his country in the US Army during the Korean War, demonstrating the same commitment and dedication that would later define his civilian life. Following his military service, Jack retired from a 40+ year career with the US Postal Service. Jack's lifelong love for all things automotive was legendary. An enthusiastic and skilled mechanic, he was likely rebuilding engines before he could walk. Racing was in his blood, and he was a proud, longtime member of the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA). He achieved a memorable victory at the 1966 Winter Nationals, a record that stood for many years. His passion for antique and vintage cars and motorcycles led to a remarkable collection, each piece in various stages of restoration. Jack felt a deep connection with his projects, taking immense pride in every step of their completion. He was always eager to share his vast knowledge, mentoring many who shared his automotive passion. Jack's personality was as vibrant as his hobbies. Known for his quick wit, humorous jokes and love of teasing however, he never lost his sense of humility. His generosity and kindness knew no bounds, ensuring he was treasured by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. The love he held for life and family were the hallmarks of his years. A private ceremony will be held to honor Jack's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Jack's memory be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. Jack's life was a rich tapestry of love, laughter, and dedication. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and joy that will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
