It is with deep sadness and heartfelt gratitude for the life we were blessed to share that we announce the passing of John J. Gaffney, a cherished husband, brother, and friend. John peacefully departed this world on October 28, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. His final moments were gentle, as he slipped away in his sleep, embraced by the mercy of the Lord. Born on November 18, 1947, in New Haven, Connecticut, John was the beloved son of Bart Anthony Gaffney Sr.and Beatrice Louise Gaffney. He was the youngest of three sons, with his brothers Patrick F. Gaffney preceding him in life’s journey. John's early years were marked by a strong bond with his family, and he carried the values and love instilled in him by his parents throughout his life. John's education began at Waukesha High, where he laid the foundation for a successful career. With determination and a keen sense of entrepreneurship, he founded his own company in the flooring business, where he dedicated many years of hard work and integrity. Upon retiring, John enjoyed his days with his beloved wife, Kathleen, in their home in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. A proud veteran, John served his country with honor during the Vietnam War. His love for cars, especially his prized Shelby Mustang, was another defining passion. An active member of his local car club, John won numerous "Best in Show" awards, a testament to his meticulous care and enthusiasm for his vehicles and the camaraderie he found among fellow enthusiasts. Though John's passing leaves a void, his spirit endures in the hearts of those he touched. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Kathleen " Kate ", and his brother, Bart Jr., along with a wide circle of friends from his car club who remember him fondly for his kindness, humor, and zest for life. A service to honor John's life will be held at Church and Chapel located at 380 Bluemound Rd. Waukesha Wi from 1 until 3 pm Sunday the 8th of November, where family and friends are invited to celebrate the rich and fulfilling life he led. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor John's memory are encouraged to donate to a charity of their choice. John J. Gaffney's legacy is one of love, resilience, and a life well-lived. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will forever inspire and bring comfort to those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
