It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of John H. Flores, who left this world peacefully on July 8, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. Born on July 13, 1947, in Toledo, Ohio, John was a beacon of kindness and humor, cherished by many for his vibrant spirit and generous heart. John was the beloved son of Candelaria Flores and Elizabeth Pauline McCulley, who preceded him in passing. He was also predeceased by his dear sisters, Martha Bates and Judy Gonzenbach, and his son-in-law, David English. Despite these losses, John always found strength in his family and friends, dedicating his life to those he loved. For 27 beautiful years, John shared his life with his devoted partner, Diana (Dee) Smith. He was a loving father to his daughter, Belinda English (Gregg Niemeier), his son, John Flores Jr. (Crystal Naliborski), and Amy Freed. His legacy lives on in his grandchildren: Serina Flores (Chad Wiggins), Greg English (Keri), Clare, John, and Addy Flores, as well as Ethan and Maus Naliborski and David Workes. John's great-grandchildren, Haily and Eric Grim, and Lana, Evan, and Lucy English, will continue to carry forward the love and joy he brought to their lives. John's career journey took him from being a laborer in his early years to a charismatic casino dealer later in life. His professional path reflected his ability to connect with people from all walks of life, always ready to share a story or a hearty laugh. A huge Cardinal fan, John found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing, golfing, and cheering on his favorite team. Beyond his professional achievements and hobbies, John was a dedicated coach for the Dogtown Khoury League, where he mentored countless young lady athletes in softball, soccer, iceless hockey, and bowling. He was a father figure to many, a role he embraced with pride and dedication. John had a rare gift for conversation, possessing the ability to talk about anything and everything, leaving those around him feeling heard and valued. A celebration of John's life will be held on July 25, 2026, with a viewing from 9:00 am to 10:30 a.m. followed by services at 10:30 a.m. at Jay B Smith Funeral Home at the Fenton, Mo location and a graveside service from 11:45 am to 12:15 pm at Mount Hope Cemeteryin Lemay, Mo.
