May 16, 1961 — June 17, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Gray, a beloved son, brother, and uncle, who left us on June 17, 2026, at the age of 65. John passed peacefully at Williamsport Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and music. Born on May 16, 1961, in the picturesque town of Newport Beach, California, John was the cherished son of Janice Funk and the late Reuben Gray. He was a beacon of joy and love to all who knew him. John was predeceased by his father, Reuben Gray, and his dear sisters, April Gagliardi and Tammy Gray. He is survived by his devoted mother, Janice Funk, his loving brother, Robert Boggs, and his caring sister, Jaclyn Coonse, along with her husband, Roger Coonse. John’s legacy of kindness and humor extends to his cherished nephews, Dillon Voorhees and Bryce Coonse, who carry forward his spirit and zest for life. John’s professional journey led him to a fulfilling career at Tru Flex in West Lebanon, where he dedicated 14 years of service. His colleagues remember him as a diligent and kind-hearted individual, whose presence brightened the work environment and whose dedication was unwavering. Outside of his professional life, John was an avid guitar and banjo player, bringing music and joy to countless gatherings. His love for music was not just a hobby, but a way of life that touched everyone around him. Whether strumming a lively tune or sharing a soulful melody, John's music was a gift that reflected the depth of his character and his love for those around him. A service to celebrate John’s life will be held on June 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Spirit of Life Ministries, located at 505 W State Street, Kingman, IN. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by John are warmly invited to attend. It is a time to honor and remember a man whose life was a testament to love, kindness, and joy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Spirit of Life Building Fund, in memory of John’s generous spirit and his commitment to community and faith. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Ascension Williamsport Hospital, whose care and support provided comfort to John and his family in his final hours. John Gray will forever be remembered for his gentle soul, his infectious smile, and the music that will continue to echo in the hearts of those he leaves behind. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the stories we share and the memories we cherish.
