John G. Orsino

It is with both profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of John G. Orsino on July 14, 2026, at the age of 97, in the comfort of his home. Born on December 13, 1928, in Philadelphia, PA, John was a beacon of strength, kindness, and generosity to all who had the privilege of knowing him. John was the beloved son of the late John and Rose Orsino. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanette Orsino, and their son, John Jr. Despite these profound losses, John’s resilience and enduring spirit remained steadfast. He was blessed to find love again and is survived by his loving wife, Mary Claire Orsino, with whom he shared many cherished years in a supportive and devoted marriage. The " Golden Years" were just that, filled will laughter, travel and joy. Together, they exemplified the true meaning of partnership, caring for one another in both sickness and health. John had two surviving sons, Gregory and Dean Orsino, and was a loving step-father to Veronica Dodson. His legacy of love and family extends further to his cherished niece and goddaughter, Patty Orsino, and his grandson, Brandon Orsino. The warmth of his family circle was enriched by the presence of close family friends Evan and Tara Marcus and their sons, who were like family to him. A proud veteran, John served honorably in the Navy during both World War II and the Korean War, receiving commendations for his bravery and dedication. After his military service, John built a remarkable career as a builder, contractor, real estate broker, and dealmaker. His professional accomplishments were numerous, yet it was his passion for work and helping others that truly defined him. Even into his 90s, John’s spunk and determination saw him climbing ladders to assist neighbors with building projects, including the construction of an interior attic room and the tiling of a basement floor. John was a cherished member of the Italian American Club, where his joyful spirit and generosity were felt by everyone. His hobbies and interests reflected his zest for life and his unwavering commitment to helping others. A memorial service to honor John’s extraordinary life will be held on August 8, 2026, at the Mausoleum Chapel of St. Mary’s Cemetery, located at 515 W Browning Rd., Bellmawr, NJ. A repass will follow immediately afterwards at his home where the celebration of his life will continue. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the kind and patient caregivers who provided John with compassionate care during his final days. John G. Orsino’s life was a testament to the power of love, dedication, and resilience. His memory will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to be touched by his heart and spirit.
