John F. Boos

November 16, 1956 — July 15, 2026

John F. Boos, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 16, 1956, in Topeka, Kansas, John was the cherished son of Donald and Joan Boos, who preceded him in death, along with his beloved son, Vincent Boos. John's life was a testament to love, dedication, and kindness. He met the love of his life, Rochelle, and they were married on June 23, 1984, at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Kansas City, Kansas. Together, they spent 42 beautiful years building a family filled with laughter and joy, raising six wonderful children: Naomi McArdle (Daniel McArdle), Micaela Boos (CJ Kruse), Mariah Boos (Lee Ogg), Daniel Boos, and Natalie Rubio (Quirino Rubio). John took immense pride in his role as a father and grandfather to his precious grandchildren, Chloe and Grayson McArdle. A proud graduate of Shawnee Mission West High School, John pursued higher education at Rockhurst University, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in finance. He began his professional journey as a purchasing administrator at AlliedSignal before dedicating 25 years of his career to serving Johnson County in the same capacity. John retired in 2019, leaving behind a legacy of diligence and integrity. John and Rochelle were devoted members of the Prince of Peace Catholic Parish, and John was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. His commitment to his profession was further evidenced by his involvement with the Mid-America Council of Public Purchasing. Beyond his professional life, John found joy in the simple pleasures of watching old western shows and cheering on KU sports, the Chiefs, and the Royals. His heart of gold and generous spirit touched everyone he met. John’s attentiveness and compassion were legendary; he had a unique ability to make those around him feel truly heard and valued. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the EMTs in Springhill and the staff at the KU-Olathe campus. Their incredible dedication and care gave John’s family precious additional days with a man who meant the world to them. In memory of John's generous spirit, the family suggests donations be made to a charity of choice, honoring his legacy of compassion and love for others. As we reflect on John’s life, we celebrate a man who was truly devoted to his family and community. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and kindness will endure in our hearts forever.
