May 30, 1946 — March 12, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of John Ed Seehorn, a beloved partner, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. John peacefully departed this world on March 13, 2026, at the age of 79, unexpectedly at home after a short illness, surrounded by the love that he so generously gave during his life. Born on May 30, 1946, in Johnson City, Tennessee, John was the cherished son of the late James L. Seehorn and Alma Williams Seehorn. He was raised in a home filled with warmth and kindness, traits that he carried forward throughout his life. John is now reunited with his parents in eternal peace. John's early years were spent in Johnson City, where he graduated from Science Hill High School. His desire to serve and protect led him to the National Guard, where he proudly fulfilled his duties to his country with honor and distinction. In his professional life, John was known for his commitment and integrity, qualities that earned him the respect and admiration of many close friends and business associates. His career was marked by a dedication to excellence and a genuine interest in the well-being of those around him. John's personal life was a testament to love and dedication. For 40 years, he shared a deep and enduring partnership with Marcella Suntato, a bond that was admired by all who knew them. His legacy continues through his son, John Ed Seehorn Jr. (affectionately known as Jed), his daughter-in-law Lori, and his beloved grandchildren, John Ed Seehorn III (L.J.) and Ruby Ann Seehorn, who brought endless joy to his life. His brother, James L. Seehorn Jr., also survives him, along with a community of friends who became like family over the years. John possessed a remarkable gift for making everyone feel valued and welcome, a testament to his generous spirit and kind heart. His laughter and wisdom were gifts he shared freely, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who were privileged to know him. A graveside service to honor John's life will be held on March 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Monta Vista Memorial Park, located at 1900 E Oakland Ave., Johnson City, TN. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by John are invited to attend as we celebrate his remarkable journey and bid him a fond farewell. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, PO Box 515, Northampton, MA 01061-0515, or to the Washington County Johnson City Animal Center, 3411 N Roan St, Johnson City, TN, in John's memory. These causes were dear to John's heart and reflect his lifelong commitment to helping others. Though John Ed Seehorn has departed from this earthly realm, the love he shared and the lives he touched will remain as his everlasting legacy. We find solace in knowing he rests in peace, embraced by the memories of a life well-lived and a heart full of love.
