Born on August 10, 1955, in Nashville, John was the cherished son of Jim and Mary Doe, both of whom predeceased him. John was a man whose life was filled with adventure, love, and a deep commitment to his family and community. He met the love of his life, Amanda, and together they built a beautiful family, raising three wonderful children: Sara Schmid (Doe), Tim, and Nancy Carter (Doe). John's heart was further warmed by his four grandchildren—Brandon, Jason, Joe, and Christi—who brought boundless joy into his life. He was also blessed with six great-grandchildren, whose laughter and smiles were the light of his days. A man of unwavering integrity and kindness, John had an impressive career, yet it was his role as a husband, father, and grandfather that he held most dear. He was a dedicated family man, always putting his loved ones first and ensuring they felt cherished and supported. John was a beloved brother to Josh, Jerry, and Jim, with whom he shared countless memories and a bond that remained unbroken throughout their lives. His siblings, along with his extended family and friends, will remember him as a beacon of strength and compassion. In addition to his devotion to family, John was a passionate supporter of his community. He was actively involved in various local organizations and was known for his generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need. A memorial service to celebrate John's life will be held on August 13, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home, located at 5110 Gallatin Pike S, Nashville, TN 37115. Family, friends, and all whose lives John touched are invited to gather in remembrance and honor of a truly remarkable man.
