In Loving Memory

John Deaux
December 4, 1964 — July 4, 2026
John Deaux, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on December 4, 1964, in New Roads, Louisiana, John was the cherished son of the late John and Mary Deaux. He was a man of integrity and warmth, who left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
John's life was one of dedication and love, both to his family and his work. As a proud ironworker with Local 623, he built not just structures, but lifelong friendships and a legacy of commitment and craftsmanship. His work ethic was unparalleled, and his colleagues often remarked on his reliability and generous spirit.
A devoted member of the First Baptist Church of New Roads, John's faith was a guiding light in his life. He found great joy and solace in his church community, where he was known for his kind heart and willingness to lend a helping hand. His participation in the church was a testament to his unwavering commitment to service and compassion.
John was a true outdoorsman, an avid fisherman who cherished the tranquility of the water and the thrill of the catch. He loved cooking and gardening, passions that he shared with his family and friends. His garden was a place of beauty and bounty, much like the life he cultivated with his beloved wife, Plenty Deaux, with whom he shared 25 wonderful years of marriage.
Together, John and Plenty raised two remarkable children, Penny Smith and Bob Deaux, who carry forward his legacy of kindness and strength. John's role as a father was his most treasured, and he was infinitely proud of Penny and Bob. His love for his family was boundless and evident in every aspect of his life.
John was predeceased by his parents, and their memories were always close to his heart. His surviving family, including his wife and children, will forever cherish the love, laughter, and lessons he imparted.
A service to honor John's life will be held on September 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of New Roads. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate a life well-lived and to share in the warmth of his memory.
