John Davis Miles left this world peacefully at his home on October 21, 2026. Born on August 12, 1961, in Durham, North Carolina, John was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, whose kindness and resilience touched the lives of all who knew him. John was the cherished son of the late Curtis Lee Miles Sr. and Maxine Miles. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Johnnie and Luella Monroe, his beloved parents, his sisters Brenda, Aline, and Shannon, and his brother Eugene. His legacy continues through his loving children, Jamel, Fayetteville, NC, Shaneka (Marcus), Huntersville, NC, Jalissa (Antoine), Frankfurt, Germany and Marie, Fredericksburg, VA and his 5 adored grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. A proud graduate of Hoke County High School in Raeford, North Carolina, Class of 1979, John went on to serve his country with honor in the U.S. Army from March 1984 to May 1985. His commitment to service extended into his professional life, where he worked as a dedicated government employee and with the post office, always striving to make a positive impact. His calling to be entrepreneur led him to establish his own trucking business and food service business. John's personal life was blessed with the love of three remarkable women, Barbara McIntyre ,Sharon McRae and Nancy Nelson, who each shared meaningful chapters of his journey. His life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and the importance of family. Those who were fortunate enough to know John will remember his outgoing personality, unwavering loyalty, and the laughter that he brought into every room. He was a man of quiet strength and deep convictions, whose legacy will be carried on by those who loved him. Though John has left this earthly realm, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him in return. May he rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love of those who went before him.
