John D Jarrell

John D. Jarrell, a beloved son, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 27, 2026. Born on October 21, 1958, in Duluth, Georgia, John was the cherished son of John D. and Rosa Mae Jarrell, Sr., who predeceased him. He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Gayton Jarrell, and brothers-in-law, Eugene Daniels and Wendell Howell. John's life was a tapestry of vibrant experiences and relationships. He was a devoted father to his sons, Jason (Stephanie) Jarrell and Jonathan Jarrell, and a loving grandfather to nine grandchildren: Makalah, Skylar, Jaylah, Aaliyah, Zaylah, Amaya, Shayla, Ace, and Ari Jarrell. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Kodi and Leilani Jarrell. John is also survived by his dear sisters, Vera Mae Daniels, Velma Jarrell, and Shirley Howell, and brothers, Gary (Frances) Jarrell and Jeffery Jarrell. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends will fondly remember his warmth and generosity. John was a graduate of Duluth High School and went on to work with dedication and skill at Dutch Mills, L.B. Foster, Classic Collision, and G&B Landscaping Co. His professional life was marked by hard work and a commitment to excellence. A man of many talents and interests, John brought joy and innovation to those around him. He had a passion for working on cars and riding motorcycles, and he was known for being the first person to attach a stereo to a bicycle and ride it through his neighborhood, much to the delight of his community. John joined Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, where he found spiritual fellowship and support throughout his life. Known affectionately as "LowKey," John was a character full of life and humor. His signature "211" in hand, he was often the life of the party, dancing to James Brown with unmatched enthusiasm and skill. His love for children was evident, as he was always ready to give a kid some money, while humorously requesting $2.00 from adults, joking that "he had no work around his heart." John D. Jarrell's legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege to know him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice in his honor, celebrating the generosity and joy he brought to the world.
