John D. Jarrell, Jr.

John D. Jarrell, Jr. Mr. John D. Jarrell, Jr. was born on October 21, 1958, in Duluth, Georgia, to the late John D. and Rosa Mae Jarrell, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents, his nephew, Gayton Jarrell, and brothers-in-law, Eugene Daniels and Wendell Howell. A beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026. John graduated from Duluth High School and went on to work with dedication and skill at Dutch Mills, L.B. Foster, Classic Collision, and G&B Landscaping Co. Throughout his working life, John D was admired for his dedication and strong work ethic. John joined Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, where he found spiritual fellowship and support throughout his life. A man of many talents, he had a passion for working on cars and riding motorcycles, and he was known for being the first person to attach a stereo to a bicycle and ride it from the “Farm” to the Hills. Known affectionately as "LowKey," John D was a character full of life and humor. His signature "211" in hand, he was often the life of the party, dancing to James Brown with unmatched passion and skill. His love for children was evident: he was always ready to give a kid some money, while jokingly requesting $2.00 from adults. When asked if he had worked that day, he would jokingly/seriously state that "he had no work around his heart." He leaves behind a loving family, including his sons, Jason (Stephanie) Jarrell and Jonathan Jarrell. He was a beloved brother to his sisters, Vera Mae Daniels, Velma Jarrell, and Shirley Howell, and brothers, Gary (Frances) Jarrell and Jeffery Jarrell. A loving grandfather to nine grandchildren: Makalah, Skylah, Jaylah, Aaliyah, Zaylah, Amaya, Shayla, Ace, and Ari Jarrell. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Kodi and Leilani Jarrell. He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who were touched by his kindness and generosity. John D's memory will forever be a beacon of love and laughter, and his spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him.
