It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Correll Montue, a cherished soul who departed peacefully to be with the Lord on March 27, 2026. Born on April 29, 1957, in Sacramento, California, John was a beacon of warmth and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. John was the beloved son of the late Charles and Grace Montue and was predeceased by his grandfather, John Montue, grandmother, Julia Dunn, his parents, and his dear niece, Chanel Bunn. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find solace in knowing he is reunited with his family in eternal peace. John's legacy is lovingly carried on by his son, John Montue Jr.; his brothers, Delbert, Charles Jr., Ray, Roger, and Deladier Andre Kevin John Dee; his sisters, Genelle and Gracie; and his Uncle Trav. He was also a proud grandfather to two grandchildren and a great-grandfather to one precious great-grandchild. His extended family, along with many cousins and friends, will forever remember the love and laughter he brought into their lives. A devoted Christian, John cherished his relationship with Our Heavenly Father. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him through his journey and inspiring those around him with hope and compassion. In his professional life, John was a dedicated truck driver who also pursued education in light mechanic work. His work ethic and commitment to his craft were admired by his colleagues and friends alike. Yet, it was his personal qualities that truly defined him. John was known for his unwavering love for his neighbors, always eager to lend a helping hand with legal issues or any trouble that came their way. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds, and he touched countless lives with his selflessness and compassion. John's passions extended beyond his professional life. He found joy in the rhythm of his favorite oldies, the freedom of riding his Harley Davidson, and the elegance of Cadillacs. These hobbies were more than just pastimes; they were expressions of his zest for life and the joy he found in its simple pleasures. As we bid farewell to John, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering faith. His legacy of kindness and warmth will forever be etched in our hearts, reminding us to live with the same compassion and generosity that he so effortlessly shared. A memorial service to honor John's life will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to come together to celebrate his remarkable journey. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in John's memory to a charity of choice, continuing his legacy of helping those in need.
