April 6, 1939 — July 22, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of John Carl Beard on July 22, 2026, at the age of 87. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. John was born on April 6, 1939, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to Laura Elizabeth Facemyer. In his professional career, John worked at Walt Disney World, where he dedicated 25 years as a skilled maintenance man in Disney Village. Often referred to as a "jack of all trades," John took pride in his work. His colleagues remember him for his unwavering kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand. He was a hardworking man who found joy in the simple things in life. An avid outdoorsman, he cherished the thrill of hunting and fishing. His garage was a sanctuary where he spent hours restoring antique cars, his hands bringing history back to life one bolt at a time. He was happiest doing what he loved. John's passion for these hobbies was surpassed only by the love he held for his family. John is survived by his cherished wife, Melody, who was the love of his life and his steadfast partner for many wonderful years. He leaves behind a legacy of love in his daughter, Ellen Beard, and his son, Daniel Beard, along with Daniel's wife, Martha. John took great delight in watching his family grow. A proud grandfather to five grandchildren Kristen, Zak, Karlee, Allie and Trevor. Great grandfather to Lexi, Jayden, Mia-Rae, Kayce and Ella. A godfather to Janelle Lowe and Jeremy Cohen and families. He helped to raise so many teaching them how to live and love with all of their hearts. The love he shared will be remembered for generations. John's presence was a testament to strength and resilience, his life marked by integrity, humor, and a heart that knew no bounds. He was a man of few words but abundant warmth, whose gentle soul brought joy to all who knew him. As we bid farewell to John, we celebrate a life well-lived, grateful for the impact he made on the lives he touched. He planted seeds of love, wisdom and grace in all of us so we may grow and teach those around us. His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the eternal beauty of the heavens above.
