In the tender embrace of cherished memories, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, John Calip Sr., who departed from this world on May 28, 2026, after a brief illness. Born on July 21, 1956, in the quaint town of Mineola, Texas, John was a beacon of love and resilience throughout his 69 years of life. John was the cherished son of the late Dave and Annie Calip, whose values and spirit he carried forth with grace and dignity. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Angela Caraway Calip, with whom he shared an abiding love that began in their youth. The couple married in 1975, and together they nurtured a family grounded in love and mutual respect. John’s life was a testament to the power of family and the bonds that hold us together. He leaves behind his three devoted children, LaKeshia, John Jr., and Marcia, who were the light of his life and his greatest source of pride. John’s legacy will continue to flourish through his three beautiful grandchildren, Jamal, Jamil, and Mila, who brought immeasurable joy and laughter to his days. He is also survived by his loving siblings, brother Dave and sister Paulette, who shared in the joys and trials of life alongside him, providing steadfast support and camaraderie. John will be fondly remembered by a host of nieces and nephews whose lives he touched with his gentle spirit and unwavering kindness. Throughout his life, John was a man of quiet strength and humility, values he instilled in his family. His warmth and generosity were felt by all who knew him, and his legacy of love will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. A service to honor John’s life and celebrate his journey will be held at 1:00 PM on June 6, 2026, at Mineola Memorial Cemetery. We invite family and friends to gather and remember a man who, in his own quiet way, profoundly impacted all who were fortunate to know him. As we say goodbye to John, we do so with hearts full of gratitude for the time shared and the memories created. His spirit will forever be a guiding light in our lives, reminding us of the importance of family, love, and kindness. We take comfort in knowing that he is reunited with Angela and his parents, watching over us with a smile. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in John's memory, celebrating his generous spirit and lifelong commitment to helping others.
