With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of John Alvin Perry, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend. John was born on December 6, 1955, in the vibrant city of Louisville, Mississippi, where he spent his formative years cultivating deep roots and everlasting friendships. He peacefully departed this life on June 1, 2026, at River Oaks Hospital, embraced by the love of his family and the community he so dearly treasured.
John was the beloved son of the late Albert Perry and Gennie Lee Triplett and was lovingly nurtured by his stepfather, the late Harvey Triplett. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Shirley Delois Perry, his sister Elizabeth Miller, and his brothers Douglas Perry and Kerry Triplett. These cherished family members paved the path before him, leaving an indelible mark on his heart.
A proud graduate of the Louisville High School Class of 1973, John carried the lessons of his youth into a life of service and dedication. His commitment to duty was exemplified as a member of the Army National Guard, and his industrious spirit shone brightly during his many years at Taylor Machine Works in Louisville, MS. John's work was more than a profession; it was an extension of his deep-seated values of integrity and perseverance.
John was a man whose heart overflowed with love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness cherished by his daughters, Katina McCain and Tabitha Goss, and his son, Bobby Goss, all of Louisville, MS. His familial ties extended to his brothers, Henry Perry (Willie Ruth), Derrick Perry, and Norquita Perry, and his sister, Gracie Cole-Hill. He is also fondly remembered by his stepbrother Tony Triplett, Bubba Triplett, and stepsister Shantae Triplett.
The joy of John’s life was undoubtedly his nine grandchildren—Sharonica, Romeo, Kirianna, Carlos, Sacario, Takaya, Shakara, Jayyda, and Meelah—and five great-grandchildren—Khilan, Shi, Zahara, Raycen, and Solomon—who were the radiant lights in his life. He was their steadfast supporter and biggest fan, finding immense joy in their laughter and achievements.
John will be remembered for his gentle nature and unwavering dedication to those he loved. His family was his world, and he devoted his life to their happiness and well-being. His warmth, humor, and kindness enriched the lives of all who knew him, leaving an enduring legacy of love and compassion.
A celebration of John's life will be held on June 12, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Beck Funeral Home Chapel, located at 226 N. Street, Louisville, MS, 39339. Following the service, John will be laid to rest at Bethany Ebenezer Church in Louisville, MS. Pallbearers honoring his memory will include Rodney Hunt and Calvin Hunt.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, support, and sympathy during this difficult time. Your comforting words, kind gestures, and presence have provided great strength. To all who sent flowers, cards, and messages of condolence or who attended the service, we are profoundly grateful.
