John Allen Snuckel

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Allen Snuckel, who left this world peacefully on August 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 24, 1954, in Orland Park, Illinois, John was a cherished son of the late Jack and Josephine Snuckel, who predeceased him. John's life was a tapestry of love, service, and passion. He met his beloved wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Hoch, his high school sweetheart, in Silver Springs, Chicago. Together, they embarked on a journey that took them to San Francisco following John's draft into the US Navy during the Vietnam War, where he served with honor aboard the USS Oriskany. Their journey eventually led them to Port Charlotte, Florida, where they lovingly raised their three children—Jennifer Glenn, Ginger Eichler, and Micheal Snuckel. A man of remarkable achievements, John graduated from Orland Park High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in business from Northwestern Illinois. His passion for golf was not only a hobby but a career, as he became a professional golfer and opened his own business, Legends Golf and Sports. His exceptional skills in golf earned him a place in the Hall of Fame, a testament to his dedication and talent. John's greatest joys in life were his family and his love for sports, particularly golf, which he enjoyed playing year-round. He adored spending time with his children and was a devoted grandfather to his three grandchildren—Kai Hildbrand, Kellen Warner, and Cambriea Johnson—and a proud great-grandfather. Though life's journey took John and Betty on separate paths for a time, love brought them back together, and they shared his final days in his hometown, where he found comfort and peace. A celebration of John's life will be held on August 10, 2026, at 11:30 AM at Lawn Funeral Home, located at 7732 W 159th Street, Orland Park, IL. With services following directly after at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the legacy of a man whose life was filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in John's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that reflects his dedication and service to others. John Allen Snuckel will be dearly missed, but his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His life was a testament to the power of love and the joy of shared memories, and he will be remembered with warmth and gratitude.
