Born in the vibrant city of Chicago, IL, on January 9, 1969, Johanne was a beacon of kindness and strength, touching the lives of all who knew her. Johanne was the beloved daughter of Wille and Michelle Smith, who instilled in her the values of compassion and resilience. She carried these values with her throughout her life, imparting them to her family and all those around her. Johanne shared a beautiful life with her devoted husband, Ma. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter, cherishing every moment spent with their children and grandchildren. Johanne was the proud grandmother of three grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life. Her unwavering dedication to her family was matched by her commitment to her community. Johanne was known for her selfless acts of kindness and her ability to bring people together. She found joy in volunteering and was a staunch supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization whose mission she held close to her heart. A service to honor Johanne's life will be held on October 9, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the Johnson Funeral Home, located at 5838 W Division St. Family, friends, and all whose lives she touched are invited to gather in remembrance of a remarkable woman who gave so much to so many. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Johanne's memory. Her legacy of generosity and love for children will continue through this support. As we say goodbye to Johanne, we celebrate a life well-lived and a spirit that will forever remain in our hearts.
