Joel “Keith” Roper, born on November 25, 1947, in Corpus Christi, Texas, at age 78 passed away peacefully in his home on September 26, 2026, surrounded by his cherished family and friends. A man of immense warmth and kindness, Keith leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.
Keith was the beloved son of Joseph and Ruth Louise Roper. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Roper, mother Ruth Louise Roper, and his dear daughter, Erica Roper, whose memories he carried close to his heart. His step-mother, Lavern, who has been an integral part of his life, survives him.
For 44 beautiful years, Keith shared a life of love and companionship with his wife, Connie. Their marriage was a testament to enduring commitment and affection, one that inspired all who knew them. Keith’s love extended to his children, Eric, Crystal, Julie, and Christine. He was also a doting grandfather to Ronica, Dylon, Destiny, Caylah, Brayden, and Alana, and a delighted great-grandfather to young Karter, who brought endless joy to his days.
Keith dedicated his professional life to the Corpus Christi Fire Department. He was a beacon of strength and courage, embodying the spirit of a true public servant. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Keith was an active and cherished member of Trinity Our Savior church, where his faith and fellowship were a source of solace and community.
Keith will forever be remembered for his radiant smile and his unwavering devotion to family. He possessed a generous spirit, always ready with guidance, a smile, and a helping hand. His presence brought warmth and comfort to all fortunate enough to cross his path.
A graveside service to celebrate Keith’s life will be held on October 2, 2026, at 11:30 AM at Seaside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, located at 4357 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a remarkable man whose life was a testament to love, service, and faith.
