Joel Heath Gardner

February 5, 1970 — May 21, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joel Heath Gardner, a cherished son, devoted father, beloved brother, and loyal friend. Heath left this world peacefully on May 21, 2026, at the age of 56, surrounded by the warmth of his family in the comfort of his home. He succumbed to complications from congestive heart failure, a battle he fought with courage and dignity. Born on February 5, 1970, in the close-knit community of Waxahachie, Texas, Heath was the son of the late Larry Joe Gardner and Charlotte Elaine (Williams) Gardner. He was predeceased by his father, Larry Joe Gardner, and his beloved maternal grandparents, Alton "Hot Shot" and Ruth Williams, as well as his paternal grandparents, Nolie and Nora Gardner, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms. Heath's life was a testament to the values of dedication, hard work, and the joy of living life to its fullest. A proud alumnus of Waxahachie High School's Class of 1988, he later earned his GED. His career as a Master Welder was much more than a job to him; it was a passion. He managed the L&M Muffler Shop Inc locations across the metroplex, primarily in Waxahachie and Red Oak, where he was known for his exceptional craftsmanship and kindness. Heath’s talent for making trucks "loud" was matched only by his love for sharing laughter and light-hearted moments with all who knew him. A man of many interests, Heath found solace and adventure in the great outdoors. An avid fisherman and hunter, he spent countless cherished moments on the lake, teaching his children the art of fishing and the thrill of tubing. His enthusiasm for life extended to his hobbies of collecting cars, coins, and gold, each piece a testament to his keen eye and appreciation for history. Heath's family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his devoted mother, Charlotte "Elaine" Gardner; his children, Lindsey (Gardner) Stanley and her husband Brendan, Sgt (retired) Cameron Gardner and his husband Samuel, Kealey Gardner, SSgt Zackery Gardner, and SrA Levi Gardner; and his precious granddaughter, Kennedy Stanley, who brought him immense joy and pride. He also leaves behind his sister, Misty (Gardner) Cox, her husband David, and their daughters, Kelsie and Lauren Cox, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever hold him dear in their hearts. Heath's infectious sense of humor and ability to find light in any situation made him a beacon of joy. His laughter was a source of comfort and his loyalty as a son, father, brother, and friend was unwavering. In his younger years, Heath was known as a handsome heartthrob who had a love for heavy metal music, a testament to his spirited and passionate nature. As we gather to celebrate the life of Joel Heath Gardner, we invite family and friends to join us for a service on May 30, 2026, at 3:00 PM, at Boze Mitchell McKibbin, located at 511 West Main Street, Waxahachie, TX 75165. Together, we will honor Heath's memory and the profound impact he had on all who were fortunate enough to know him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Heath's memory to a heart health charity of your choice, as a tribute to his enduring spirit and the love he shared with the world. Heath's legacy of laughter, love, and loyalty will forever remain in our hearts.
