Joe Turkle

December 1, 1920 — December 2, 1981

Yo It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude that we announce the passing of Joe Turkle, who departed from this life on December 2, 1981, just a day after celebrating his 61st birthday. Born on December 1, 1920, in the vibrant state of Colorado, Joe lived a life rich in joy, adventure, and love, leaving a legacy that will be cherished forever by all who knew him. Joe was the beloved son of Johnny and Josephine Turkle, who predeceased him, as did his brother, Bobby. Together, they formed the foundation of his life, instilling in him values of hard work, kindness, and an unfailing sense of humor. He carried these qualities with him throughout his life, touching the hearts of everyone he met. In 1940, Joe married the love of his life, Sally Ann. Together, they shared an extraordinary 41-year journey, filled with love and laughter. Sally stood by Joe's side through every adventure, and together they raised a beautiful son, Danny Torrence, who was the pride and joy of Joe's life. Joe was also blessed with one grandchild and two great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his later years. Joe's professional life was as colorful as his personality. He graduated with a master's degree in mule riding from Donkey University, a testament to his adventurous spirit and unique sense of humor. For 45 years, Joe worked diligently in the hotel caretaking business, where he was known for his quick wit and ability to make everyone smile. In the last few years of his life, he pursued a surprising career shift into mind reading, a testament to his ever-curious nature and love for the extraordinary. Beyond his professional achievements, Joe was a dedicated community member, actively participating as a volunteer firefighter. His bravery and selflessness were evident in his commitment to helping others, and his contributions to the community were deeply appreciated. Joe had a passion for collecting Hummel figurines, each piece telling a story of his love for craftsmanship and art. He also cherished the times spent on long RV camping trips with his family, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Joe's life. The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Stop Supernatural Forces cause, a nod to the unique and whimsical nature of Joe's interests. Joe Turkle will be remembered for his warmth, his infectious laughter, and his profound ability to make everyone around him feel special. Though he has left this world, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we celebrate the extraordinary life he led and the indelible mark he left on this earth. Rest in peace, dear Joe. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
