It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joe Smith, a cherished member of the Terre Haute, Indiana community, who left us on October 12, 2026, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. Born on January 16, 2010, in Terre Haute, Joe was a beacon of kindness and warmth to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Joe was the beloved son of John and Elizabeth Bowers Smith, who preceded him in death along with his two brothers, John Jr. and Eric. He was a devoted family man who cherished the values instilled in him by his loving parents.
A bright and dedicated student, Joe graduated from Marshall High School in 2012 and went on to further his education at Lincoln Trail College, graduating in 2014. With a natural aptitude for working with his hands and the determination to succeed, Joe pursued a career as an electrician with Bob Dawg Plumbing. His colleagues and clients alike will remember him for his unwavering dedication and exceptional work ethic.
Joe was not just a professional but also a man of faith and community. An active member of the First Christian Church of Marshall, he also proudly participated in the Marshall Lodge #133, the Danville Consistory, and the Zorah Shrine Temple. His commitment to service extended to the Marshall Lions Club, where he was known as a true and loyal member, always ready to lend a helping hand with a warm smile.
In his leisure time, Joe found joy and peace in fishing, and he was an enthusiastic fan of the Chicago Bears and the Indiana Fever. His pleasant demeanor and willingness to help others made him a friend to many and a cherished member of the community.
A service to honor and celebrate Joe's life will be held on October 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Pearce Funeral Home, located at 314 S. 6th St., Marshall, IL.
