It is with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Joe S. Machado Jr., who left this world on October 2, 2026, at the age of 88, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Born on September 18, 1938, in Carminita, California, Joe's journey through life was marked by love, laughter, and a steadfast dedication to family and community. Joe was the beloved son of Joe S. Machado Sr. and Celestina Machado. He was predeceased by his cherished sister, Mary Lou Jaques, and his beloved daughter, Shellie Machado Gonzeles. Joe's legacy is carried on by his devoted wife, Shirley J. Machado, with whom he shared 68 wonderful years of marriage after exchanging vows on June 7, 1958, in Artesia, CA. Together, they raised three children, and their home was always filled with warmth and joy. Joe's life was enriched by his surviving children, Joe S. Machado 3rd and Michael S. Machado, as well as his six loving grandchildren: Joe Machado 4th, Chace Machado, Michael S. Machado Jr., Cory D. Machado, Christopher J. Machado, and Cierra Machado. His legacy extends to his 12 great-grandchildren: Joseph Machado 5th, Shelby Machado, Caiden Machado, Reece Machado, Addison Machado, Andrew Machado, Kaitlyn Machado, Brevin Machado, Lillian Machado, Mikayla Machado, Makenze Machado, and Claire Diaz. Educated at Whittier High School, Joe dedicated over 40 years of his career as a Maintenance Mechanic and was promoted to Supervisor Maintenance Engineer. He proudly served at Knudsen's Creamery for 35 years and later at Adorlf's Tulare and CDI, retiring at the remarkable age of 80. Joe was a valued member of the Elks Lodge and the GWRRA, where his presence was always felt and appreciated. Joe's passions included motorcycle riding, cars, and motorhomes, and he had an insatiable love for travel. Known for his quick wit and warm smile, Joe had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. His kindness and generosity touched countless lives, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. A Rosery will be held on October 20, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Miller's Funeral Home, located at 151 H Street, Tulare, CA 93274. The family kindly requests that any donations in Joe's memory be made to a charity of choice. The Funeral will be held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church 125 E. Pleasant Ave. Tulare, CA 93274 at 10:30 am. Burial will be at the old Tulare Cementary Reception to follow at Apple Annies The Machado family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Madera Hospital and Hospice Care, whose wonderful and gentle care provided Joe with comfort in his final days. Joe S. Machado Jr.'s departure leaves a void in our hearts, yet his memory will forever be a guiding light. As we honor his remarkable life, we invite all who knew him to join us in celebrating the extraordinary journey of a man whose love, laughter, and kindness graced this world.
