Joe johnson
February 1, 1950 — October 22, 2026
In loving memory of Joe Johnson, who passed away peacefully at a nursing home on October 22, 2026. Joe's journey began on February 1, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa, where he was born to Betty and Earl Johnson. He carried the warmth and kindness instilled in him by his parents throughout his life, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he met.
Joe shared a blessed marriage with Rose Black, whom he wed in 1980. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising three wonderful children: Holly Johnson of Osceola, IA; John Johnson of Leon, IA; and Jeremiah Johnson of Osceola, IA. His family was his pride and joy, and he adored his five grandchildren, who brought him endless happiness.
A dedicated worker, Joe spent ten years at Ford Motor Company before a car accident in 1990 led to his early retirement. Despite the challenges he faced, Joe never lost his zest for life. He found solace and joy in fishing and cherished every moment spent with his children. Joe's sense of humor was legendary; his warm smile and friendly nature could light up any room, and he was always ready with a joke to share.
Joe was predeceased by his beloved parents, Betty and Tomas Johnson, as well as his sister, Becky Johnson, and brothers, Lee Johnson and Kenny Johnson. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
While Joe's family has chosen to hold a private ceremony to celebrate his life, they wish to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from those who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice, as a tribute to Joe's generous spirit.
Joe will be profoundly missed, and his memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Joe johnson welcomes donations to a charity, nonprofit, church, or organization of your choosing.
