Jody R. Fooshe, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, peacefully departed this world under Hospice care on October 17, 2026. Born on June 24, 1950, in Alexandria, Virginia, Jody was the cherished daughter of Vincent and Jeanne Ruch, who predeceased her, along with her brother Vincent Ruch Jr., and her son Michael Spillane Jr. Jody spent her early years in Alexandria, where she formed lasting bonds and developed a strong foundation of family values. Her career path led her to the Defense Intelligence Agency, where she dedicated many years of service until her retirement in 1988. With a spirit of entrepreneurship and a drive to create, Jody embarked on a new journey by establishing her own business in 1989, which she successfully ran for over two decades before retiring in 2010. Jody's life was a testament to resilience, love, and dedication. Her warmth and kindness touched many, and her laughter could light up the darkest of rooms. She was a loving mother to her surviving son, Sean Spillane, who was the pride and joy of her life. Jody cherished family above all else, and her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Jody's life, in accordance with her wishes. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Jody's memory to an organization of your choice that supports hospice care or any cause close to her heart. Jody R. Fooshe will be remembered as a beacon of love, strength, and perseverance. Her memory will forever be a source of comfort and pride to her family and friends.
