It is with profound sadness and gentle remembrance that we announce the passing of our beloved Jody Harris, who departed this world peacefully in his sleep on June 18, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Jody was born on November 6, 1983, in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, a place that always held a special piece of his heart. Jody's journey was marked by a gentle spirit and an unwavering love for his family and friends. He was the cherished son of Tamyra Harris, who instilled in him the values of compassion, resilience, and kindness. Jody was preceded in death by his mentor and beloved family member, Paster John, who guided him with wisdom and love. Jody's legacy continues through his surviving family members, who were his greatest source of pride and joy. He leaves behind his loving partner, Jody McClellan, and his devoted siblings, Jonisha Lee and Jajuan Lee. His spirit and values live on in his three beloved grandchildren, who were his greatest delight, and his two precious great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and hope for the future. Throughout his life, Jody was known for his warm-hearted nature, his infectious smile, and his generosity. He was always ready with a listening ear or a helping hand, embodying a deep sense of community and connection with those around him. His laughter and stories enriched the lives of all who knew him. Jody's life will be celebrated on July 2, 2026, at Saint John’s Baptist Church, located at 1141 Whitey Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70056. The service will begin at midnight, a serene time to honor and reflect on the beautiful life Jody lived and the indelible mark he left on all of us. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a cancer research charity of your choice, reflecting Jody's own desire to support others facing similar battles. As we gather to honor Jody’s life, we remember the love, laughter, and light he brought into the world. He leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will endure in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. Rest in peace, dear Jody, knowing you were deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
