Joanne was the cherished daughter of Lois Clear and William Dirckston, and she was predeceased by her dear sister, Fran Dirckston. She is survived by her loving son, Tilo Smith, who was her pride and joy. Joanne was also a devoted grandmother to her five beautiful granddaughters: Tatsiana, Ava, Zoe, Juliana, and Kaylee, who brought endless joy and laughter into her life. Her sister, Rosalin Dirckston, along with her family, will forever hold Joanne's memory close to their hearts. A graduate of Simon Gratz High School, Joanne dedicated her career to the City of Philadelphia, where she worked tirelessly as a school crossing guard. Through her work, she ensured the safety of countless children, greeting each day with a smile and a helping hand. Her commitment to her role was a reflection of her caring nature and her dedication to her community. Joanne had a passion for the arts, spending many joyful hours immersed in arts and crafts, ceramics, and painting. Her creativity was boundless, and she shared this love with those around her, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful works and cherished memories.
