In loving memory of JoAnna Castleberry Wilson, who gracefully departed this world on April 17, 2026, just shy of her 80th birthday. Born on April 25, 1946, in the charming town of Atlanta, Texas, JoAnna lived a life marked by compassion, resilience, and an unwavering dedication to her family and community.
JoAnna was the cherished daughter of the late Jimmie Castleberry and Easter Palmer. She was predeceased by her parents, her beloved brother Jimmie Castleberry Jr., and her husbands, Victor Williams and Herman Wilson. Despite the loss of these dear ones, JoAnna's life was filled with the love and joy of those she left behind, including her devoted daughters, Regenia Wilson (Eddie Marshall) and Rosel Elaine Wilson. She also leaves behind her siblings, Obie Castleberry, Hazel Castleberry, Betty Castleberry, Mary Nicholson, and Sheryl Farmer, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Throughout her illustrious career, JoAnna served with distinction at the Los Angeles County General Hospital, where she brought skill and empathy to her role, earning the admiration of colleagues and patients alike. Her commitment to caring for others was fueled by her academic achievements, including a Master’s degree in Nursing, which she pursued with passion and determination.
JoAnna’s legacy extends to her treasured grandchildren, Kia, Dominique, Dion, and Asha, and her four great-grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them, imparting wisdom, love, and a sense of belonging that will guide them always.
JoAnna’s warmth and kindness extended beyond her family, touching the lives of many in her community. Her gentle spirit and generous nature were a testament to the love she carried for all those around her.
A celebration of JoAnna’s remarkable life will be held on April 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Beulah Baptist Church, located at 1454 E. 100th Street, Los Angeles, CA. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by JoAnna are invited to join in honoring her memory and celebrating the legacy she leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in JoAnna's memory to a charity of your choice, as a tribute to her lifelong dedication to helping others.
JoAnna Castleberry Wilson will be remembered for her boundless love, her unwavering strength, and her profound impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us as we carry her memory forward in our hearts.
