Joann Vinson, a beloved and cherished soul, passed away peacefully at her home on September 25, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on September 18, 1941, in the quaint town of Lando, South Carolina, Joann was the cherished daughter of Skeet and Inez Langley.
Joann's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and resilience. She was predeceased by her husband, Barry Vinson, her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Justine Paul, her grandson, Chris McDaniel, and her dear brothers, Sonny, Bob, and Bill Langley. Her spirit, however, lives on through the legacy of her large and loving family.
She is survived by her children, Sue Paul, Jackie Paul, and Dani Sevilla (CJ), who were her pride and joy. Her grandchildren, David Camp (Krystal), Tiffany Balcazar (Ricardo), April Lovelace (Phillip), Brandon Cummings, Haylea Paul, Marany Guzman, Toni Sevilla-Lindsey (Doug), Poppy Sevilla, Ashley Sevilla, and Ally Sevilla, who were the light of her life, and her great-grandchildren, Geni Camp, McKenzie Camp, Dylan Balcazar, Hayden Balcazar, Dymond Lovelace, Lisa Lovelace, Lilli Rico, Ricardo Colon, Alli Cummings, Kylie Cummings, Ava Cummings, Layla Cummings, Logan Cummings, Landon Paul, Jaxson Reece, Maddie McDaniel, and Mason McDaniel, who brought her endless joy. Joann was also blessed with great-great-grandchildren Kanoah Balcazar, Rya Balcazar, Kayden Sanders, and Royce Colon, who carried her legacy into future generations.
Joann dedicated many years of her life working at Manetta Mills and Randolph Yarns, where her strong work ethic and warm demeanor were admired by colleagues and friends alike. Outside of her professional life, Joann found joy in the simple pleasures of thrift shopping and immersing herself in the enchanting stories of romance novels.
A service to honor Joann's life will be held at Lando Baptist Church on October 2, 2026, at 5:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate a life well-lived and to share in the memories of the remarkable woman Joann was.
