JoAnn Stills

February 11, 1935 — May 28, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the peaceful passing of JoAnn Stills, who departed this world on May 28, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on February 11, 1935, in the heart of Illinois, JoAnn was the cherished daughter of Wendell and Josephine Beeler. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering loyalty, qualities she embodied until her final days. JoAnn was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gene Stills, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and adventure. Together, they built a strong and nurturing family, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to flourish in the years to come. Her spirit lives on in her devoted children: daughters Jenise St Pierre (Teddy) and Joni Haenel (Gary), and sons Jeff (Michelle) and Jed Stills (Patsy). JoAnn's nurturing presence extended to her nine beloved grandchildren: Kirsten Bendell (Chris), Jennifer Blount (Dave), Thomas Maloy, Matt Haenel (Caitlin), Wesley Stills, Madalyn Stills (Chase), Caroline Prince (Tim), Ella, and Brynn St Pierre. Her love further enriched the lives of her great-grandchildren, Hannah, Nick, Tommy, Brit, and Betsy, who brought her immense joy and pride. JoAnn's life was a tapestry woven with threads of love and loyalty. She was known for her kindness and generosity, always ready with a helping hand or a word of encouragement. Her independent spirit was matched only by her occasional stubbornness, a testament to her determination and strength. In her leisure time, JoAnn found joy in the simple pleasures of life. A passionate supporter of the Tampa Bay Bucs, she never missed a game, cheering fervently from the comfort of her home. However, it was family gatherings and Beeler reunions that brought her the greatest happiness. These moments, filled with laughter and love, were the cornerstones of her existence, and she cherished every opportunity to be surrounded by her loved ones. In memory of JoAnn's generous heart, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Head Start, an organization close to her heart, in lieu of flowers. JoAnn was a firm believer in the power of education and its ability to transform lives, and supporting this cause would honor her legacy of giving and caring for others. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we celebrate her life, her love, and the indelible mark she left on all who knew her. JoAnn Stills will be dearly missed, but her spirit and the lessons she imparted will remain with us forever, guiding us with the same love and wisdom she so generously shared throughout her life.
