With profound sorrow and tender admiration, we announce the passing of Joann Baugher Weaver, who peacefully left this world on May 5, 2026, at the age of 93, embraced by the comfort of her home in Springfield, Missouri. Born on a winter morning, January 3, 1933, Joann graced this world with her warmth and kindness, a beacon of light that touched countless lives throughout her journey. Born to Leroy and Maude Baugher, Joann was the cherished sister of Mae, Elmer, and Everett. Her childhood in Springfield was filled with familial love and the values that would guide her throughout her life. Joann's life was a testament to the profound love she held for her family—a love that she nurtured and shared with unwavering devotion. Joann was united in marriage to Ed Howard Weaver Sr., with whom she built a life rich in love and shared memories. Together, they were blessed with children who would become the center of Joann's world. Though she faced the heartache of bidding farewell to her husband Ed, her daughters Linda Carol and Maude Elizabeth, her son Edward Howard Weaver Jr., her granddaughter April Smith, and her siblings, Joann's spirit remained resilient and her heart filled with gratitude for the moments they shared. Her legacy lives on through her surviving daughter, Lois Mae, and her grandchildren—Lisa Mae, Melissa Polak, Lois Walker, and Stevie Freeman—all residing in Oklahoma, along with her 14 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Joann's family was her greatest source of pride, and she cherished the time she spent with each member, treasuring their achievements and milestones as her own. Joann was known for her friendly smile, a gentle expression that welcomed everyone she encountered as a friend. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and kindness, a place where laughter was shared, and hearts were uplifted. Her generous spirit and unfaltering kindness were a testament to the strength of her character, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. In honoring Joann's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to commemorate her life, a personal gathering for those closest to her, where stories will be shared, and her life celebrated with the intimacy she so cherished. As we reflect on the life of Joann Baugher Weaver, we remember a woman whose love for her family was boundless and whose friendly spirit made the world a brighter place. Though she has departed from this earthly realm, her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire and guide those she leaves behind.
