Joann was born on December 21, 1954, in the vibrant city of Chicago, where she would go on to spend her life touching countless hearts with her love and dedication.
Joann was the beloved daughter of the late Betty and Joseph Alexander, who instilled in her the values of kindness and community service that she carried throughout her life. Her parents' legacy lived on in Joann's unwavering commitment to her family and her faith, which were the cornerstones of her existence.
As a devoted mother, Joann leaves behind her children Andrea, Roxann, Andre, Brandon, and Raymond Alexander. Her nurturing spirit and boundless love were not limited to her children alone; she was a beacon of warmth and support to her grandchildren, Latavia Bagsby, Darnesha, Deija, Ronnay Creed, Shany Bagsby, Tamia Creed, Ronnie Creed, and Christina Creed. Her legacy continues in the lives of her 11 great-grandchildren, who brought endless joy to her days.
Joann's love for her community was as deep as her faith. For 40 years, she was an outstanding member of the Chicago City Life Center church, where she served Christ with tireless devotion. Her welcoming nature and open arms left a lasting impression on everyone she met, and her presence was a source of comfort and inspiration to many.
Though her passing leaves a void that can never be filled, we take solace in the countless memories she gifted us and the enduring impact she left on her family and community. Joann's life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and faith.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Joann's life, in accordance with her wishes. The family kindly requests privacy during this time of mourning.
While Joann may no longer walk among us, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her laughter, her kindness, and her unwavering faith will forever remain etched in our hearts.
