Joani Todd
July 23, 1934 — August 1, 2026
Joani Todd, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away suddenly at her home on August 1, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on July 23, 1934, in Motley, Minnesota, Joani was the daughter of Edwin and Alice Mack. She was predeceased by her loving parents, her brothers David and Darwin, and her devoted husband, Jay Duane, with whom she shared nearly 55 years of marriage until his passing in 2008.
Joani and Jay's love story began when they wed on August 4, 1953, just as Jay returned from basic training. Their union was a testament to the adage, "When you marry the best, why settle for less."
Together, they built a family filled with love and warmth. Joani is survived by her children: Patricia and her husband John Greentree, Michael Todd and his wife Cindi, and Jalene and her husband Kenneth Wells. Her legacy of love extends to her grandchildren: Charity and her husband Greg Burkhiemer, Toni Greentree King, John and his wife Sarah Greentree, Tyna and her husband Scott Piekfind, Todd and his wife Monice Wells, and Bradley and Scott Wells. Joani was also blessed with great-grandchildren Tracy Edwards, Cody Greentree, Aden, Luke Wells, Hannah, JJ, and Abe Greentree.
Joani's life was enriched by her siblings, including her sister Elane Brown and her sisters-in-law Pauline and Alice Todd. She treasured her relationships with close friends and was known for her kind and generous spirit.
Throughout her life, Joani dedicated herself to helping others. She was a devoted volunteer at Mercy, St. Al’s, Care House, Hands of Hope, and any place where she could lend a hand. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a long-time member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
Joani found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including thrift store shopping and collecting bears, angels, BSU memorabilia, and puzzles. She found solace in gospel music, Bible reading, and prayer, which guided her throughout her life.
A service to celebrate Joani's life will be held on September 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 601 16th Ave So, Nampa, ID. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Joani's memory.
Joani Todd's life was a testament to love, faith, and service. She touched the hearts of many and leaves behind a legacy of compassion and kindness. Her memory will be forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.
