In Loving Memory

Joan G. Janisch
December 18, 1945 — September 27, 2026
Joan Janisch, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully of natural causes at Hutchinson Hospital on September 27, 2026. Born on December 18, 1945, in Saint Cloud, MN, Joan was the cherished daughter of Ervin (Babe) and Adeline (Looman) Stelten. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Vernie, Lou, and Ervin (Spud).
Joan's life was a testament to love, resilience, and joy. On April 4, 1964, she married the love of her life, Doug Janisch, in Kimball. Their union, which spanned an incredible 62 years, was blessed with three wonderful daughters: DeeAnn (Brad) Fischer of Kimball, Jonell (Tom) Conroy of Sauk Rapids, and Jodi (Mike) Schindler of Kimball. Joan's legacy of love extends through her grandchildren—Mitch, Alex, Olivia, Jenna, Will, Megan, Austin—and eight great-grandchildren, each a testament to her enduring spirit and warmth.
A graduate of Kimball High School, Joan was a dedicated and hardworking factory worker in Dassel, MN. She took pride in her work and was a respected member of her community. For over 40 years, Joan was a devoted member of St. Anne's parish in Kimball, where she found solace and community.
Joan had a zest for life that was infectious. Her attitude was full of vinegar and spice, a lively combination that made every moment with her memorable. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—tending to her vegetable gardens and flower beds, playing cards with friends, and dancing the night away at the Playland Ballroom.
A small prayer service will be held on October 10, 2026, at 9:30 AM at St. Anne's Cemetery in Kimball, MN, for family and close friends. Following the service, a gathering will take place at the Triple R Bar and Grill, where stories and memories of Joan will be shared and cherished.
Joan Janisch's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and grace. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved so dearly.
