Joan Siefert
April 9, 1940 — May 6, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joan Siefert, who departed this world peacefully on May 6, 2026, at the age of 86, due to medical complications following a surgery. Joan was born on April 9, 1940, in the vibrant city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to her cherished parents, Edward and Irene Goodman.
Joan was a beacon of warmth and kindness, whose life was a testament to the love she held for her family and the joy she found in their company. Her gentle spirit and unwavering devotion to her loved ones created a legacy that will continue to be felt for generations. Despite the challenges life presented, Joan always faced them with grace and dignity, qualities that endeared her to everyone she met.
She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Edward and Irene Goodman, and her dear sister, Janet Weingartner, whom she held close to her heart. Joan's memory will live on through her surviving family: her devoted daughter, Deborah Devine; her treasured grandchildren, Shaun Devine and his wife Krystal, and Elisa Higgins and her husband Michael; and her adored great-grandchildren, Adrianna Anderson, Kennedi Devine, Maci Devine, and Alaina Higgins. She also leaves behind her loving cousins, Dolly Queen and Virginia Bowen, and her caring nephew, Eddie Weingartner, each of whom held a special place in her life.
Joan spent several fulfilling years working at the Allegheny County Prothonotary Office, where she was known for her diligence and commitment. In her retirement, she found joy in her work at Sam's Club in Monroeville, where she delighted in interacting with colleagues and customers alike. Her work ethic and dedication were a source of inspiration to all who knew her.
Her greatest joy, however, came from the time she spent with her family. Whether she was sharing stories, laughter, or simply enjoying the presence of her great-grandchildren, Joan treasured these moments above all else. Her love for her family was the cornerstone of her life, and her nurturing presence will be dearly missed.
Joan's family wishes to honor her final request, as she did not wish for a funeral. Instead, they cherish the memories and love she left behind, knowing that she was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In this time of sorrow, we find comfort in the enduring legacy Joan leaves behind—a legacy of love, resilience, and joy. Her spirit will forever echo in the hearts of her family and friends, reminding us of the beauty of a life well-lived.
May her soul rest in peace, and may her family find solace in the cherished memories they hold dear.
