In Loving Memory

Joan Marie Trogden
September 13, 1942 — May 10, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Joan Marie Trogden, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Joan departed this world on May 10, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on September 13, 1942, in the serene town of Mount Vernon, Washington, she spent her life bringing warmth and light to everyone she encountered.
Joan's life was a tapestry of love, adventure, and devotion. She was a woman deeply connected to the natural world, finding solace and joy in the gentle rhythm of the ocean waves and the whispering silence of the desert sands. Her eyes sparkled with the thrill of discovering agates and shells, treasures from the sea that she lovingly collected during her walks along the beach. These small wonders were but a reflection of her own nature—beautiful, enduring, and timeless.
Yet, above all, Joan's greatest love was for her family, particularly her children, who were the center of her universe. She is survived by her devoted husband, Will Trogden, and her loving children, Kelly Trogden Srsen and her husband Dan, James Trogden, and Gerry Trogden Carr and her husband Bill. Though she leaves behind no grandchildren, the legacy of her love and wisdom will undoubtedly echo through generations to come.
Joan's life will be celebrated on June 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located at 812 Bowker St SE, Lacey, WA. Friends and family are invited to gather to honor her memory and reflect on a life well-lived. In this sacred space, we will share stories, tears, and laughter, remembering the profound impact Joan had on all who knew her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, love, and care received during this time of mourning. Your kindness has been a source of comfort and strength.
Joan Marie Trogden's spirit will forever be a part of the sea she loved so dearly, carried in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. As we say goodbye, let us carry forward her legacy of love and appreciation for the simple, beautiful moments in life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Joan’s memory to a charity of your choice, keeping her spirit of generosity alive through acts of kindness. Rest in peace, dear Joan, knowing you were profoundly loved and will be deeply missed.
