Joan Louise Venables, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on February 6, 1937, in Brooklyn, NY, Joan was the cherished daughter of Rose and Louis A. Bove.
Throughout her life, Joan embodied warmth and compassion, values instilled in her by her loving parents and shared with her siblings. She is now reunited in peace with her parents and her sister, Antionetta Bove, who predeceased her.
Joan's life was a testament to the joys of family and the strength of enduring love. On June 26, 1960, she married John G. Venables, with whom she shared many cherished years before their eventual separation. Together, they built a family that was the center of Joan’s world. She is survived by her devoted children: Tracy LoBello, Gina Malmgren, and Kimberly Masure. Her legacy continues in her grandchildren, Gabriella LoBello, Luciano LoBello, Tyler Masure, Jordan Masure, Leah Malmgren, and Robert Malmgren, who brought her immense joy and pride.
Joan’s sister, Eleanor Perrotta, and her nieces, Rae Bunker and Danielle Cordella, also survive her, each holding a special place in her heart. Joan's family was her greatest joy, and she found happiness in their company, cherishing every gathering and celebration.
Professionally, Joan worked as a bookkeeper at Queens Farms in Ozone Park, where her diligence and attention to detail were highly valued. Her colleagues remember her as a dedicated and kind-hearted individual who always had a smile to share.
Outside of work, Joan had a vibrant love for life. She relished the thrill of travel, particularly her many cruises, and enjoyed playing the slot machines at the casino, where she was always hopeful for a lucky win. Her adventurous spirit and love for exploration were infectious and inspired those around her.
Joan's warmth extended beyond her family and friends, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her kindness and generosity were guiding lights in her life, and she encouraged others to embrace these qualities.
