May 25, 1937 — July 2, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Joan Loskiewictz on July 2, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on May 25, 1937, in Boston, Massachusetts, Joan was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her remarkable life was filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to family and community. Joan was the cherished daughter of the late Ida (Baghett) Morris and Owen Morris. She was the youngest of her siblings, preceded in death by her beloved brother and sisters, John Morris (Franny), Barbara Merryman (Mark), and Eileen Valadka (George). Joan's family was the cornerstone of her life, and she embraced her role as a matriarch with grace and strength. In 1956, Joan married the love of her life, the late William (Boachie) Loskiewictz Sr., with whom she shared 60 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a loving home filled with warmth and joy. Joan is survived by her devoted children, Patricia Seay (Charles), William Loskiewictz Jr. (the late Marie (Kim)), and Joseph Loskiewictz (Theresa). She was a proud grandmother to Kristin (Jack), William Loskiewictz III (Chrissy), and Devon Slavic (Doug), and a doting great-grandmother to Dennis, Brandon, Georgia, Luna, Dean, and Nova. Joan worked as a secretary for most of her life, a role she performed with dedication and skill. Beyond her professional life, Joan was a woman of many talents and interests. She had a passion for cooking and was known for her culinary creativity, even authoring a cookbook. Her love for family gatherings was evident during holiday celebrations and Sunday dinners, where her joy was palpable as she watched her family come together under one roof. Her adventurous spirit was matched by her tenacity; whether it was crafting a wedding dress or finding her way to a farmers market on a rainy day, Joan was a woman who could accomplish anything she set her mind to. Her vibrant presence was a hallmark of Galloway Street, and her voice, often heard summoning her husband, will be fondly missed by all who knew her. Joan had an open heart and an open ear, always ready to offer support to those in need. Her love for animals was boundless, and she never hesitated to help a dog or cat in distress. Her compassion and kindness were felt by many, leaving a legacy of love that will endure in the hearts of all who knew her. In honor of Joan's life and her generous spirit, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice. Joan's family extends their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. As we remember Joan, let us celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many with her warmth, strength, and unwavering love. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished.
