Jo Ann was the cherished daughter of the late Hubert and Johnnie Mae Browner, who predeceased her and whose loving influence shaped the remarkable woman she became. She is survived by her devoted son, Aaron Washington, and her siblings, Betty Ford, Odessa Ellis, Phylis Harris, and John W. Browner, who will forever treasure her memory. Jo Ann's legacy also lives on through her five adored grandchildren, who were the light of her life and the source of much joy and pride.
A dedicated learner, Jo Ann pursued her education with determination. After obtaining her GED, she attended Amarillo College, where she earned her Office Administration Certificate. Her passion for caregiving led her to achieve her CNA certification, marking the beginning of a fulfilling career that spanned nearly three decades.
Jo Ann found her true calling working as a CNA technician at Heritage Convalescent Center, where she served with compassion and dedication for 29 years. Even after retirement, her commitment to caring for others drew her back to work on a PRN basis. Her colleagues and patients alike will remember her for her gentle touch and the comfort she provided to so many.
A longstanding member of St. John Baptist Church, Jo Ann's faith was her guiding light. Known for her strong belief, she found comfort and healing in her spirituality, offering solace not only to herself but also to all those around her. Her faith was a beacon of hope and strength to her family and friends, who leaned on her in times of need.
Outside of her professional life, Jo Ann was a sports enthusiast whose passion for football and baseball brought her immense joy. She was a loyal fan of the Denver Broncos and the Texas Rangers, often spending her weekends cheering on her favorite teams with enthusiasm and zeal.
In honoring Jo Ann's life, the family will hold a private funeral ceremony, ensuring an intimate setting to celebrate her memory. They extend their heartfelt gratitude to BSA Hospice and the Heritage Convalescent Center for the compassionate care and support they provided during Jo Ann's final days.
