It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Jo Ann Roland White, who departed this earthly life on June 7, 2026, at her residence in Cheraw, South Carolina. Born on February 6, 1939, in the warm embrace of Monroe, North Carolina, Jo Ann was the cherished daughter of the late Johnny J. Roland and Leola Allen Roland. Jo Ann was a beacon of strength, grace, and unwavering love. Her life was a testament to the profound impact one person can have on the world through kindness, wisdom, and a gentle spirit. Her legacy, woven with threads of love and devotion, will continue to shine brightly through the generations she helped shape. A devoted mother, Jo Ann is survived by her children: Peggy Ann Harrell, Inetha White, Loretta Hanna, Quincy Jr. White and his wife Lanie, and Rita Massey and her husband Robin. Her life was further enriched by the presence of her surviving siblings: Rose Covington and her husband Earnest, Johnny Van Roland, Leroy Roland and his wife Crystal, Janet Staton, Maxine Kirkley and her husband Frank, and Jonathan Bennett. Jo Ann's family extended to a host of beloved nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Jo Ann was blessed with 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of her life. Through them, her spirit will continue to inspire and guide, just as she did in life. Preceded in death by her loving husband, John Quincy Adam White, her dear children Caroline and Gregory White, her cherished stepdaughter Evon Chambers, and her precious sisters and brothers, Jo Ann's reunion with them in the hereafter is a comfort to all who knew her. A faithful member of Highway to Heaven in Monroe, North Carolina, Jo Ann's dedication to her faith and community was unwavering. Her life was a testament to the power of love and compassion, qualities that she shared generously with all who had the privilege of knowing her. In honoring Jo Ann's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held, allowing her family to celebrate her life in an intimate setting. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of Blakely's Funeral Home for their compassionate services during this difficult time. Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find solace in the beautiful memories she leaves behind. Jo Ann Roland White's life was a blessing to all who knew her, and her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
